Hi Cris,

Do you get an error when running the lictools -install from a command prompt?
If that does not work remove the licensing program group from
your Softimage Products menu as well as the following registry keys highlighted
in Red by going to start run regedit

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Softimage License Server
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\spmd

You might have backups of these entries in the control001,002 folder as well.
After this reboot and reinstall the SPM software.

What OS and Service pak are you using? Are you installing the latest version
1246 which you can find here
http://www.softimage.com/Products/xsi/v3/Downloads/spm.asp If it shows up can
you remove the SPM software from the add remove programs
menu in Control Panel?

yes im logged as admin, tcp is working because im connectedto internet, i have
disable firewall and antivirus protection and i still get this message:
installation of the NT service[spm license server] as failed.
license server will not run.
to install the service later on do:lictools -install

where can this command be done(anyway if ots the solution)

this is a job for tech support really...
anyway do the usual bunch of checks, are you logged in as administrator ? is
TCP/IP working properly ? do you have an antivirus or a firewall that is
monitoring ports ?
