We just updated our fileserver to Samba 3.0 (last week). We are running a windows domain with multiple user accounts, WinXp workstations. The users have mapped their home/project shares to our redhat fileserver. Have not heard any bigger problems.
The only "difference" was that the new samba version seems to be case sensitive for user or domain names. That's why we had to rewrite a program that does some auto-mapping to our project accounts.
