Hi Steve,

With Nero, I never had a problem with XSI or old SI files archive.........
even if I burned complete folders withou zipping or rar.........

But as somebody mentioned, it's good to zip folders....
I am also have verify ON after burn..., and I am doing a copy from different
DVDrom drive directly after my burn...
so I can be sure, that burned DVD is alsoperfectly readable from other
dvdroms.....

It takes time, but with 4x speed on -r media or 8xspeed with +r media, it is
not that bad :)

later,
Marek

Hey, often when you copy stuff from a CD or DVD back to the Harddrive, all
files will be marked as read-only.  XSI might not like that, and that may be
causing your corruption problems.  After copying the projects back to the
server, you should mark *all* files as writable and see if you problem goed
away.

Hi all, sorry for slight OT...

we archive our XSI stuff  ( scenes, models, textures ...) on DVD. We
experienced rencently a problem
where scenes archieved were corrupted when put back on the server
although the burning software
didn't mention any errors at recording stage.

Do you guys know of any software or "trick"  that would insure the
backup is  safe ?
(Apart from opening every single scene)...

   Cheers,
   F.
