SGI in Talks to Sell Alias Software Business <- Going Solo !!

Absolutely this is big and it is a great moment in Alias history. Alias
management is now working closely with a private equity investor to finalize
the acquisition of Alias from SGI.

See www.alias.com for details.

Becoming independent, we really look forward to being able to further expand
our business, further increase customer value and create significant growth
with our software and services. Currently we have over 500 people in 13
offices around the globe serving both the design and entertainment markets.

The financial investor we are currently working with to finalize the
acquisition is a leading private equity firm that provides growth capital to
targeted technology companies. Alias is profitable and our profitability
drives our R&D investments. Having a financial investor that is in sync with
our strategic direction will help to make us an even stronger competitive
force in the markets we serve.

We appreciate the support we have had a highend3d.com over the years and
look forward to making Maya even better for games, film, design
visualization, education, broadcast and digital publishing!!
