Thanks, everyone - I'll defer to your experience and save myself some Yoda
hands by skipping the touchpad and going straight for a mouse.

Kim - I just recently got a new optical/RF mouse for work and never saw what
you described ... "where the very small usb transceiver tucks inside the
mouse when unplugged"  It sounds smart - do you have an URL to this mouse?  
I'm curious.
