Maya 4.5 to 5 on Older Hardware

Maya 4.5 to 5 on Older Hardware

Hi,

We're thinking of upgrading our 4.5 Unlimited to 5, but the box it runs on
is a dual PIII 933Mhz with an ELSA Gloria II.

4.5 works OK on this box for us.  Is 5 noticeably any slower than 4.5 on the
same box?

With the Vector Renderer, I think the ELSA Gloria II is useless, because
it's just Quadro......is that right?  If so, we could get a medium card that
would do for now, but in that case, what success is anyone getting with what
cards?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Julian.
