HowTo: Create a "shell like " cube - with torus primitive and the magic ri

Hello list.

If you want to work from within a cube such as a shell. It may be achieved with
this method.
Are there other ideas on how to do the same thing or suggestions on improving
this method?

Create the shell like cube using the torus: 1): Ensure the magic ring is
selected in the preferences dialog box and the "set type" is set to scalable
and NOT automatic.  2): Instance a torus primitive to the screen and keep it in
the magic ring display state. 3): Right click on the blue knob of the magic
ring and LEFT DRAG the mouse until the number of edges or sides are reduced to
four, now you have a cube.  4): right click the gold portion of the magic ring
above the blue knob and drag downwards until you get a hollow cube. Take your
time and patience with this as It is a bit tricky to get the cube to a hollowed
out state. Fiddle with this technique a bit and tS will display the cube in
this form.

Now the cube is ready to be resized as you like. The hollow cube is ready for
editing and you can use the pointedit mode tools such as the sweep tool to
extend the walls to a specific thickness.  With the walls created you have
techniqued rooms with the hollowed cube.

Here is one idea to extend this cube ?
Extend the size of the cube to the dimension of a floor plan. Use the add edges
tool found in the point edit toolset to add edges to one or more sides of a
wall. From here sweep the newly created area to a dimension which equals a room
size. Paint as you like or add more edges to create a window. Add a roof or a
floor using this same technique.

How can this cube be extended to add a door frame and door ?

tS is tricky to work with and requires diligence , patience, practice and sweat
to get things just right. But it is worth every minute once the know how sets
in and what are mistakes may just be methods later.

Thanks for your suggestions

David
