Hello list :

There seems to be many ways to do this and some are more articulate than others.
The materials library and the materials shaders can be used here to get
different effects
Some methods you can work real time while in edit mode and show the same result
in your render Some methods show little change to the object in edit mode but
display the effects in object render mode.

I have described a simple method which works in edit mode and resolves to
render mode
Here it is again in step form. Using default or reset all state of the
materials editor.
