Back Hmmmm, I get similar results although I have differenct specs Vid card is only a g550 with 32 megs ram, 1.5 gigs computer ram, If I had your card I should be smoking. I get 100 % cpu consumption during ops as well with XP
Regardless, TS is the way it is and I believe requires a pacing method when working with it unless you have a very very fast machine (CPU) with lots of ram on both the computer and the video card. 5.2 ran with much more problems than does 6.6 on my machine and I understand that the upgrade version to 7.0 will be better due to code rewriting and a fully object oriented system. So it is getting better in terms of lower end machines. Still it packs a lot of functionality in it and can produce to a wide array of subject areas. Suggestions: 1): Pace your work, specifically mouse clicks - allow for the time durations 2): sometimes , keep an eye on dismissing a work effort by deselection using the white arrow this dismisses the reference to the functionality kept in memory. This way TS only has to work with what is being done at the current time and does not have to worry about what was just done unless there is a focus on the specific object and a redo or an undo it to be done Again dismiss the object regularly.
Major point in terms of memory and screen updating remember too that TS holds references in memory of about 15 steps for undo and that is for each object you have worked on.........that is a lot of memory to reference but a great relief when you would like to undo something instead of losing all the work to start over.
3):Use layers to focus on parts of your work with either the top layer or the bottom layer as your final result. This way you edit on certain parts and can view the other layers including the finished layer too.
4): and or a library - work with lower count of objects in the workspace when editing. place back in library when completed or assign to a layer. and when you are ready to put the full package together it is there on a layer or layers.
Each machine has its characteristics and each is different in terms of processing functionality . the above are just some of the things I do when considering my work. So far my work is smooth ops.

I seem to be having some kind of performance problem with TS. Running in solid mode seems to perform jerky, probably like a 6 on the scale. Running in solid outline is worse. Running in either of the transparent modes is next to impossible. I only have 6 complete objects on the screen, my head being the big one. I've turned all of my SDS objects off, and the improvement is only slightly, maybe a 1 out of 10. I wonder if there is some kind of cache file? Perhaps I need to increase my virtual memory or something. Any help would be good. I don't think it's supposed to get as choppy as it is. I've searched the forums and read stuff in the manual, not really finding anything useful at this point. I am more then likely looking for the wrong thing, so I wanted to go ahead and ping everyone to see what you think.
