I am using the D3D mode. Doesn't seem to make a difference for me which ever it
is.

Drivers should be updated already but I will check to see whats new. I didn't
do anything there.

Matt,

Which Solid Render Display are you operating in; OpenGL or D3D? Try both.
I've had better luck with either depending on the gfx card being used at the
time.
Also, I thought someone had mentioned drivers, (but I can't find the
reference that I thought I had read), but some driver versions play better
than others. If you've recently updated your drivers and the performance
dropped, go back to the previous driver. If you don't have the latest
drivers, try them.

Running in Wire and Solid Mode are the fastest in comparison to the other
modes.
I give Wire Frame a 10 - This runs excellent, which would be expected.
There is no delay period between actions. (Rotation of object, object
selection, tool selection, ect ect ..)
I give Transparent Outline a 2 - This runs the worst, with at least a 3 to 4
second period between actions. (Rotation of object, object selection, tool
selection, ect ect ..)
I give Solid Outline a 5 - This runs better then transparent outline, with
just a 1 to 1.5 second delay between actions. (Rotation of object, object
selection, tool selection, ect ect ..)
I give Transparent a 3 - This runs better then transparent outline but worse
then solid outline, with about a 2 second delay between actions. (Rotation
of object, object selection, tool selection, ect ect ..)
I give Solid an 6 or 7 - This runs better then the previous outlines, but
worse then wireframe (which would be expected anyhow), with about a .5 to a
1 second delay between actions. (Rotation of object, object selection, tool
selection, ect ect ..)

Turning off Procedural Texturing didn't seem to do much in either of the
modes. At least I don't see a difference.
I even go as far as adjusting the transparency detail and still no change in
my performance.
I am simply running about 4 or 5, 6 max applications (IE, Outlook, Yahoo IM,
and then TS.) plus firewall apps whcih I cannot turn off.
This should not be performing this badly, I wouldn't think anyway.
Without TS I am using about 4% of my CPU. With TS going and the above
mentioned apps. TS being as intensive as it is, I use about 100% CPU when
doing actions inside TS.
Here's another funny thing.
My home system specs
O/S - Windows XP
CPU - 1.5 GHz Intel Pentium 4
TOTAL MEM - 1024 MB
DIRECT X Ver. - 9
GFX CARD - ATI RADEON 9800 Pro 128MB
I run this scene, and I still get the jerky choppy problem on any mode
except wireframe, which is what I am experiencing here.
Still looking for suggestions.
Thanks,
