Instability can be an issue with graphic card drivers. Check to see if there
are driver updates and what issues they may have addressed. Sometimes you
even have to go back to an earlier driver (the newer one sometimes causes
unforseen problems). Try also looking on forums dealing with your card and /
or the drivers for information.

I'm not sure about the SSE but 6.6 is pretty stable. Perhaps this is a job
for Registry Mechanic or Anti-Crash. I had an improvement in stability when
I upgraded from 2000 to XP which may deal with your Geforce better than
2000.
