Subject: Ideas wanted 2005-06-11 - By Tony & Merilee Owen
Back That's a tough one, Matt! I'm trying to think of what a prosthesis sticking through the flesh would look like, and the best I could come up with was a very slight swelling of the skin where it meets the mask. If you have an isoperm around the junction (like a loop), this would be easy to create and then you could use vertice painting around the 'loop' to change the skin color slightly (inflamed when angry, pale when tranquil). -- -- Original Message -- -- From: Matt Geier To: truespace@(protected) Sent: Saturday, June 11, 2005 10:53 AM Subject: [TSML] Ideas wanted
Hey everyone. I'm having kind of a modelers block I guess. I want to have something that acts as a means of connecting the face plate to his flesh. screws or some kind of leather or string? Any ideas?
I've tried stitches, but they are so small they are not really vizable farther away.
I've thought of screws, but, would that make sense at all - I really wouldn't see how that could be realistic, maybe it doesn't have to be?
I think the idea I have been leaning toward, is using leather straps in an X shape and positioning them around the face plate. Really though, wouldn't that tear through the flesh. Again, maybe it doesn't matter.
I'm looking for some suggestions. I have spent a lot of time looking at other characters, trying to come up with my own creative way to make it look like the face plate has replaced the lower half of his face. If only I wasn't having a creative block.
