WIP - Island in the sea

WIP - Island in the sea

Hello Dave,

It makes me think that I am in a small water craft of some kind. With this, i
am close to the island and to the water as well. I am not sure if I am in a
side view looking on or a direct view.

Water that close is thick with salt. In places it appears too much ?
Water could be more clear at immediate point of view  or more reflectant.
Eddy formation in center right between boat and island is good.

It appears too that lighting is out of perspective. Left side of picture
lighting is perfect
and very real like.  Right side appears to demonstrate algae or fragmentation.
Settle
on algae . Does algae grow on volcanic rock, research this fact and validate it.

Island appears like molten rock some parts too jagged some too smooth.

If volcanic is top point at back out of place ?  Given volcanic movement and
settling of liquid it might be in terms of effect from water.

Is there a geologist in the house to determine air pockets in the hardened
encrustations.
In my view it should be either much more smooth and striated or pitted more
sharply
depending on the type of diastrophic activity the mass was formed. Hence ,
research
on the formation. Certain forms will occur  by the erruption action , its
settling and the environment which acts on the cooling process until hardened
to the resistance of its environmental conditions.

Perhaps too the rock should be a little less blurred and sharpened to view to
accentuate the
shine of water run off- realism.

I hope this helps as it is my opinion and you do not have to agree with it.
It is a very good effort in art, nonetheless.

Thankyou

David

The water is a bit lanquid at the mid right

Not great texture for the island etc but I am working on it and looking for
constructive criticism.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Dave
