Back Hello Mr. Richard K
Have some facts here for you to consider, if you like.
First here is some fun! I have a recent download of T.S.6.6 . I am thinking that it is TS.7 anyway. Why? It runs differently than my previous installations. I suspect a benevolent Beta . If it is then this opinion is more valued.
TS7 Good News Ohhh, forgot this. TS7 is to be based upon a well defined Object Oriented programming system. What does this mean ?
Given applied principles of the language formatting with the .Net model of which it depends for PROCESSING TS7 demands the flow should be less cumbersome to satisfy. Although more memory (may) be required in RAM. Ram is cheap these days when compared to a completely new system - But hey, Cadillacs are nice to drive.
Computer Specs 1): Current machine is running TS6.6 I have an AMD 2200 sempron (advanced to Barton types) = 1500 Intel
ASUS MB older model though. 1.5 Gigs DDR ram Matrox 550 32 megs ram. (Definate upgrade here but still works OK for now and will have uses for other projects)
Experience VC is very good 2D specific, one minor flaw with plane depth default workspace display. Subdivide add solves this but changes initial primitive form. Workspace renders have good speed. Processing a bit slow but upgrade in Video Card I believe will resolve this significantly. Good Opinion only though -
Motion animation works good. In user terms it took on a number of games like Quake 2 and other popular games. Race car action was surprisingly better than Radeon 5 and Oxygen card V1 I think it was.
Computer Specs 2): Your machine
Benifets.
That Radeon you have looks good and serves your computer parts well. A thinner video than the Matrox if I am not mistaken given todays market but certainly solid.
Future foretelling - Ha ! crystal ball anyone. I think your machine will probably be fine given your video card. Improve DDR ram first to see if there is a significant difference. Your shop should allow you to test this without charge. Take it in run TS with a high load project or what project demands that signify your aspirations.
Tweaks to XP or other OS may balance out system as well but just what tweaks could be utilized on your machine I am not sure.
Make sense ? Good luck with your decision -
David

Yes, a timely computer, works awesome with TS 6.6 How will this run TS7? or will it?
