Nurbs vs Polygon modeling 2005-05-23 - By JP
Back Here's my two cents on the topic.
I'm not sure one is better than the other. They both have their strengths and I will often mix the two to get the result I am looking for. In general I use Nurbs for precise surfaces, curves and paths and even for animation. Both polygons and Nurbs can be quite complex. Converting Nurbs to polygons allows me to create complex surfaces quickly and use all the polygon tools from that point on.
Here is a scapeship made entirely of Nurbs surfaces.
