Back My company monitors employee internet usage, and if your usage per week is above some arbitrarilly set magical number, you get told about it. It doesn't really matter whether it's work related or not, but you get told about it (not punished, just "notified"). So, going out to forums and reading through posts actually "hurts" me, so to speak. That's why I have other groups that I belong to via YahooGroups relay the messages to me through e-mail.
I miss the old-timers like Gene, Opie, Mattam (although he occassionally crawls out from under a rock), Trebs, Simon, Tom, and so on and so forth. It would be nice to know if they moved on to other packages, stopped developing stuff, or just gave up on the list. I remember when the tSml started falling apart. There were a lot of pot-shots, name calling, and just downright nastiness. It wasn't so much of a "community" as it was in anarchy. The beginning of the end, so to speak.
I find it, well, I don't know if "amusing" is the correct word, but I'll use it, amusing that the potential closing of the tSml has created this much stir, though. If the people posting now (myself included) would put as much effort in using the tSml as they are in defending the tSml, we wouldn't even be having this discussion.
Oh, and in case anyone was wondering, yeah, I'm usually at the top of the internet usage list <grin>.
