that's good to hear. Also when you compare to other motion picture
disciplines like for instance editing, there's so little level of
unionization in animation/VFX that it's a free for all for employers.
When people are union it forces the employers to think twice before
forcing someone to work overtime because then it costs...
And then there's the game industry... I sincerely hope that there;s a
bit of hope for those working crazy hours in fear of losing their jobs.
I have a friend who's a lighting artist for a well know game company
and she works 6 days a week 10 to 12 hours a day and no benefits. She
has a decent salary but nothing else.
On the other hand workers are sheepish enough to accept those working
conditions so they can't complain. I personaly said no to the cubicle
ghetto and I don't regret it.
