Not in tS! Try this:

- Create a standard, default primitive cube.
- Enter point edit mode and select the top face.
- Select Point Scale, click both mouse buttons and drag to scale the top
face up a bit, say twice the size of the bottom face of the cube.
- While still in point edit mode select the delete face tool and click on
the top face we just scaled to delete it.
- Quit the point edit mode.
- Make sure the 'cube' is the selected object and choose the object scale
tool. Right click and drag to flatten the object completely so it has a Z
size value of 0.

This is the exact same topology as the cube with a deleted face. How many
polygons does it have now - 5 or 6? Don't say 10 or 12 as it is made up from
singe sided faces :)

       :-)
Well if you ceate a cube and check info box, it says 6 faces. If you
delete one face from the cube, it has 5.
Technically (or matematically, or what, it still have 6 polygons.
