Truetown, TS7 & the state of "affordable 3D " 2004-12-14 - By Thomas Moffat Grimes
Back Oops sent this straight to Gerry and not to the list too - sending again.....
Hi Gerry,
Just responded on the forum posting over here: http://forums.caligari.com/discus/messages/74/17544.html
I was indeed taking a couple of days to see NY over the weekend, as I have never been there before, and then was flying back yesterday. There will of course be a write up from Caligari about the event, which will be worked on over the next few days, so keep an eye out for that!
Also, there was no NDA for those who attended, they are allowed to discuss what they saw if they want to - maybe they weren't sure about that though and have been erring on the side of caution in discussing it! It was also a lot of info to take in, and maybe they didn't want to speculate either, just in case they misunderstood! Anyway, we will certainly be posting our event write up as soon as I can get it prepared :)
HTH! Tom

As everyone has no doubt noticed, TS7 is in the works, trueTown was held this past weekend, and no one's talking!
I was not able to make it to trueTown, but I was hoping that people would come back so excited that we'd be deluged with hundreds of mails and posts concerning TS7 and the future of "affordable 3D". I've been on the list since 1994, (wow, has it been that long!!!???), and I can remember the hubub about TS3, TS4, TS5 & TS6, and how there was speculation, flamewars and all the wonderful things that come with an impassioned and dynamic community. Aside from some "sparse" postings on the Caligari Forums, there has been little in the way of details, and no one who atteneded trueTown has really even posted an in-depth summary.
I guess I'm wondering if the participants were required to sign an NDA, or perhaps people took a couple of extra days to shop & enjoy NYC, but I am absolutely STARVING for info about TS7. Roman, or Tom, can we get some kind f statement form Caligari about the event?
