Hi bones3d,

Well, the main trick in my comics is basically playing around with
the textures. Try to use black keylines partially on textures
(especially on objects' edges) as it may create an "inked" effect. I
tried to render with Carrara's in build Toon(pretty cool though) but
didnt quite get the effect that i wanted. I couldnt really depend
entirely on Carrara's Toon effects so some work has to be ported
over to Photoshop or Painter to construct it. Another way to play
around with the textures after your model is built is to make good
use of combinations of Photoshop's filters. You'll need to take some
time experimenting it until you get the effects you desires.
There're also some really cool Photoshop's inked/pencil .atn
(actions) over at Adobe's website however u may need abit of
tweaking to fit it to your liking. Hope my answers helps :)

Best Regards
Dan
