Ringo, here's a link to a thread someone's doing (not me) on CGTalk.com: http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?t=246910&page=1 That's the kind of look I'm going for (if you can see my pic, you can tell I'm not there yet) :)
Thanks,
Glen

Here's what I've come up with so far: http://ca.geocities.com/gallen8969@(protected)/testarea/indirectlightingt
est.jpg
AntiAliasing: Good Object Accuracy: 1px Shadow Accuracy: 0.5px ... (same as before) ... Photon Count: 49968 Photon Map Accuracy: 45% ... (same as before)
This took 4 min on my P4-2.6MHz (hyperthreaded) WinXPPro box with 1GB RAM
Comments and suggestions welcome!
Cheers,
Glen

Hiya,
I've been playing around with the render settings trying to come up with something that will look like the clay renders that you see on CGTalk.com (a lot of those people are using Max with Brazil, or Maya, etc. I think I'm getting close, but I still see some funky artifacted shadows. Rather than spend the whole day trying settings, I was hoping someone might make recommend some settings that would save me a bit of time. :)
Currently, I'm using the following: AntiAliasing: Fast Object, Shadow Accuracy: 0.5 px Filter Sharpness: 50% (although I've also tried 100%, but didn't really see a diff)
Indirect Light: 100% Interpolation: Precision: 20%
Photon Count: 60386 (should I just go higher?) Photon Map Accuracy: 15% (up from default of 10%)
Lighting Quality: Fast Accuracy: 1 px
I'd like to get nice results without sending my machine into a fit over lighting calcs (the current settings aren't a problem at all.
Thanks all!
Glen
