You would probablly be better served to use shockwave 3D as a
distribution means instead of .u3d.    U3D is very new and not
everyone has the latest version of Acrobat 7 that supports this 3D
format.  Shockwave is probablly more penetrated in the market place.

You will need Macromedia's Director to produce shockwave applets and
if you need to you can convert you .car files through .obj into
another format is need be.
