Hi Claudia

thanks for the feedback. Yes I wanted to do just that but...how can
you get spotlights to be wide at the lightsource?
They emanate from a tiny point source which means if you want a fat
beam you have to drop the half angle to about 2% and then place the
light way down underneath the structure (will put a ref file
spotlight_column.jpg in my folder for you to see what I mean).
Strangely, it still shines through the whole length of the column and
the other parts of the model
This all means that you can't then animate the light as it will
obviously move completely independently of the "source" on top of the
column.
????????
