Patrick,

Have her try Expression 3.3. It is still available for free download,
Mac or Windows. The windows version is labeled preview, but will not
expire and has full functionality. It is a very powerful vector based
program perfect for drawing cartoons.

You might have to copy that long link in sections.

The update for Expression is Acrylic, mentioned in this group. The
Beta version is free but expires.

I think an 11 year old would take to Expression quite readily, having
no preconceptions.
