Re: Exporting Animations 2005-06-10 - By samhode
Back A friend is working on a small demo to test various indie game engines (A6, Dark Basic, and Blitz3D) and asked me if CP4 did animations. I gave him a quick example and he was impressed on how easy it was compared to creating animations in Truespace 4 (TS4).
He currently uses the following method: Use TS4 to create his animations and save them as .cob (TS4's native file format). Opens them in UltimateUnwrap, then saves them as .3ds. Wah-lah...animations in .3ds format.
But he finds TS4's bone manipulation process tedious. You have to use a "pin" to lock a bone or group of bones from moving while manipulating others. He found CP4's method easier and more fluid and figured if it was possible to save/convert its animations, he'd switch to CP4 (or more likely ask me to due the animations...not that I would mind...any excuse to practice works for me).
