Back I have not tried architools but have used other plugins from same site that are excellent...so I'm not bashing architools or creator.
My solution for 3D architecture (suggested by someone else here once) is to generate designs using FloorPlan 3D. New version 10 just released. Create 2D plan and 3D view automatic in real-time...just click on view tab. IMSI http://www.imsisoft.com/prodinfo.asp?t=1&mcid=316 search web for $ discount/cross upgrade price. Win only. Free trial. Very capable but does have a few bugs and quirks; but costs under $50. Renders quite well. Imports .3ds. Automates roofs. Exports to Carrara OK...then do final 3D touches in Carrara and render in Carrara...with poser figures (using 2D, point at camera, saves file size) if needed. Its another alternative.

The plug-in is fun to play with but to use it is hard to impossible to use with measurements. I would like to make the ceiling 9 foot tall but you get a decimal for your units. It need be better documentation and maybe a little bit more user friendly. I'm back to using Truespace, and drawing the floor plan in a cad program and importing it back into my program, less hardacks than Architools Lee --- In Carrara@(protected), "William C.
