Re: Hex on a laptop: numerical keys? 2005-06-09 - By Doug Schafer
Back I looked at same keypad at Best Buy per suggestion here...on sale yesterday (closeout?) for like $20...but was concerned about possible interference with small wireless mouse. They had a wired one too.
But thanks to Eovia (alt+k) re-mapping (thanks for the tip & capability Eovia); I re-mapped to numbered keys across the top of keyboard and that's a better solution for me....with no extra stuff to carry.

Patrick, The documentation that came with my wireless Targus USB keypad (Model AKP02) indicated that Win XP would recognize the device when connected, and, for me anyway, that was exactly right. Following the directions I just connected it and Win XP recognized it, with the only additional step (maybe unnecessary, but I did it anyway) of pushing an 'ID' button on the back of the keyboard on PC boot-up (for the wireless connection). Just up and ran ... . Not sure what to say. rj
