Re: What version of A3D will Hexagon Import and Export (also site says 2005-06-02 - By ccoles_avengers
Back Hi John,
Also remember that Hexagon *replaces* the AMAPI Designer modeling line so unless you plan to upgrade to AMAPI Pro, there will be no further releases of the AMAPI Designer series for you to update to.
With that said, I can say that after using AMAPI for about a year, I have now contentedly and comforably switched over to Hexagon. :) And the Hexagon team seems very assertive about getting releases and updates out...notice that an update came out for the first version within weeks of its release.
Personally I don't think that you will have any regrets switching to Hexagon if you are an AMAPI Designer user already. Hexagon is definitely more advanced (in features) and user-friendly than AMAPI D. and I have high hopes for it in the future.
And can you really beat Hexagon's introductory price? :) If you wait to decide later, you will have to pay for it at the regular rate, so that is something to think about.
Cheers.
