Back Hi all, new to the Carrara group. I just picked up Carrara 4 Pro after many frustrations with the limitations/bugs in the Poser 5/6 render engine.
Im looking to develop game and scene character animation with a mix of poser/motionbuilder and Carrara. Can anyone point in me in the right direction of some tutorials or written resources that would help with any of the following:
Creating motionbuilder characters from poser characters Modifying poser characters into "animatable" Skinning techniques
Up until now, I have used a cludgy method of exporting Poser characters as BVH, importing them into motionbuilder, re-mapping the body part names, animating, exporting from motionbuilder as BVH, and re-importing into Poser. As cludgy as it is, I can actually do it pretty quickly now. With the addition of Carrara, I hope to get faster, cleaner movie renders.
To go a step further, Id like to use poser characters inside of motionbuilder (textures intact) for lower-res "game like" animation. I know this entails creating a skeletal structure for the meshes that poser can export and creating a fbx character from the results that motionbuilder can work with.
Any help in finding resources to aid with all or some is greatly appreciated!!
