Re: Character rig test in files section 2005-05-27 - By Andrew
Back I took a look at the pic.
A few things that I noticed: - It doesn't appear that you've set up the IK (typically the display in C4 will create a line from the start bone to the end bone) - you don't have the IK Linkage tool in use. (this would fix the sliding problems) - your model is pretty dense with polygons (although this could be just the after-smoothing screenshot) - You've used the bones for the parts of the facials expression (nothing wrong with this, but this could also be done with morph targets)
If I may, I believe you are taking a similar approach to animating as you would in C3. The new IK tools will make your life easier (and harder as they don't play with FK as the old system would have allowed).
I'll try to make a "Gumby" like blob character, rig him, and post him for everyone to learn from during this 3-day weekend. (lol, maybe I'll even make him with Hexagon.)
