Hexagon 's Hidden and Latent Effects...

That's interesting but odd because the VM is so much different and the
commands and interface are not at all alike. I do suppose that
fundamentally they do more or less the same thing with similar logic but
I'm puzzled a bit to hear this.

I like the VM despite knowing that Amapi is a more powerfull modeler.
Maybe that's just because I'm more familiar and comfortable with it in
general and did all of my modeling either with VM or Splines because I
knew how. I think knowing the VM made using Hexagon much easier I guess
but I don't see myself migrating back to the VM unless it gets an
overhaul (Manipulators and all of that stuff) or if I need to do
soething that Hexagon won't do. That being said, if it does get an
overhaul then why would I want Hexagon? Would the two modelers compete
against eachother or would they compliment one another with a broader
tool set? Interesting question for me anyway...

I saw mention of it in the chat but it kind of slipped by me... I've
been hoping all along they continued with the VM development because
well, I just like it and thought it was only missing a few more things
to make it really take off.

Glad to hear you get it. I love that feeling. lol

Okay, so I was tinkering in the CS' Vertex Modeler, and a light bulb
went on!  Literally!  I started modeling in the VM like I would
normally model in Hexagon and I was able to actually model something
and get basically the same results I have been getting in Hexagon!  I
am actually undertanding the VM now *because* of Hexagon.  For those
who have been modeling with the VM all this time without any problem,
no sweat.  But I have struggled many times and have given up even
using the VM because I felt it was too cumbersome at times.  Now with
having a few weeks of Hexagon under my belt, I am able to tackle the
VM with more ease that I never experienced before! :)  So Hexagon has
now become more valuable to me than I had originally anticipated.

Well, I am going to keep plugging away at Hexagon (I still have lots
more to learn), but I am really happy about this side benefit that it
has offered me. :)

Cheers.
