Tina,

Almost all major distributors have a refurbished section on their website
these days where you can find some pretty attractive deals on used or
closeout hardware. Since we upgrade a couple of machines per year we try and
go this route and it works fairly well for us. I like Microcenter myself as
they're a middle of the road company, not too big and not too small and they
have some pretty good deals from time to time. Dell also sells refurbs and
some of the prices vs. new can save you around 40% vs. the big guys. Just
keep an eye on them for a few weeks and you'll see what I mean. Some deals
pop up and get snapped up very quickly especially at Dell.

Subject: [Carrara] Computers

Hello everyone,

I was just wondering where one could buy used computers:  Macs and PCs in
good condition?  When I lived in Charlotte, NC they would have an expo every
year of used computers companies didn't want after they upgraded, but since
I have moved back to New Jersey I never see advertisements for them.  Does
anyone have any info on them?  I would like to buy a used Mac and see how
Carrara and some of my other programs run on it for experience in both
platforms since I own a PC.  What are the minimum requirements for a mac for
running Carrara 4?  Thanks.

Tina
