I have the problem of the background color as well as you, too. Then, the color of the specular comes black. Are you so, too? That often happens with the AI and EPS. But It is very good in case of SWF. I'm not successful in saving the pure white(RGB 255:255:255) background color with AI. But, a color like white is possible.
Change the background color to white(RGB 253:253:253) in Carrara. When you set the color(RGB 255:255:255), it will be saved by black. I don't know why the background color is like this. It is very strange. Try, please.
