<Allan, when TS started proteam there really was no point for tutors anymore.
Rorr,
Come on, do you really think proteam was the demise of online tutorials? If
you look at other software programs, there doesn't seem to be a lack of both
video tutorials or html base tutorials. I think the core user of trueSpace
has changed from users willing to commit time to create tutorials and share
their knowledge to users that focus entirely on creation on content. I've
been a user of trueSpace since version 1, and I still stink. But the number
of people willing to create tutorials has steadily decreased with each
release of trueSpace. The last book dedicated to trueSpace was for release
4, 'Inside trueSpace 4'. While other programs have a new book for each
release, along with video tutorials in some cases. And yet there is no word
on any new books for future publication. While video tutorials are fine, I
have a couple of problems with them.
1. To view them while working in trueSpace, I find it best to use a system
that has two monitors, (i.e. my computer at work has two monitors.) With
this setup I can have a tutorial on my right monitor while working in tS on
the left monitor. Many times I just don't want to bother with my one monitor
setup at home, i.e. the constant switching of screens. This is where a book
or online tutorial (printed out of course) would come in handy.
2. I can't take a video tutorial with me anywhere I go without a computer. I
can take a book or a printed tutorial with me. To me this is very valuable.
To understand the lack of tutorials is to understand the core user. I wish I
were talented enough to create some tutorials, but I am not. One would think
that with so many tS users out there, more tutorials would be made
available, but they are not. I would like to see a new 'Inside truespace'
book, but I cannot hold my breath for that. My struggle goes on, and yet I
don't give up.

John
