Making it physical... comp box questions 2005-05-16 - By Andrew Turner
Back Ok...
If I have a pretty basic package design - a box... or, maybe a box with a basic cutout... well, that's pretty easy to model and texture.
But what happens when you have a somewhat complicated pacakge? It's easy enough, I guess, to assume you can just break it into planes, and texture each plane individually... maybe that's what I'll do.
Ideally, though, I'd LOVE to be able to lay out a package as I normally would - i.e. flat - and somehow create "fold points" so that I could virtually fold up my box. I don't know if there is any particular preferred way of doing this (without the tabs I guess) but if anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears..
This will inevitably be a valuable exercise if there is indeed a way to do it...
thx Andrew
