Dave,

I did some checking. I get the same results if I do not use a fill.
It seems that you have to use a fill in VectorStyle 2 otherwise you
get a black background. (Looks like a bug to me.) To get a black line
on a white background try setting the object color in Carrara to
white and VectorsStyle2's fill to Cartoon Style Single Color.
