X,
You can select the scene and choose "backdrop" from the properties tray.
Choose "map" and browse for your .mov or .avi file. If you test render as
you go you might be able to get look you are after. Don't render the scene
with the movie unless you have a shadow catcher that is needed. Otherwise
just render with alpha channel and composite.

I don't believe you can get the camera motion into carrara, but I would sure
like to see it done in the future.
