Re: Why Hexagon? 2005-05-11 - By Bob Dawson
Back Hi, Hal.
Carrara does a number of things very well: modeling is not one of them in my humble opinion (others may not agree).
Hexagon, on the other hand, is a very good modeler. You can't (to the best of my knowledge) do any shading, animation or much of anything else in Hexagon, but boy can you model.
The two go hand in hand; a symbiotic relationship, as it were.
Carrara is a good all around program, except for its modeling capabilities. At best, Carrara's modeling barely limps along, while Hexagon soars.
Yes, you can model in Carrara if it's all you have and you're of a masochistic bent: but why would you when you can have Hexagon.
Model in Hexagon, render in Carrara. Ah, now that's the life.
