...Hexagon has many tools Silo doesn't, like line tools. For
instance you can create a object, and duplicate it along a bezier
line...

Actually, Silo does this quite handily via "Create Array". But instead
of mere duplicates it creates instances. I prefer this approach as any
further changes to the original object will also modify each instance.
At any stage an instance can be promoted to being a completely
separate object but at that point the link is broken so it will no
longer reflect changes to the original.

Although I have Silo I'm still conditionally interested in Hexagon.
I'm not at all certain it will be "superior" to Silo but the thought
of tight integration with Carrara is very appealing. Like most of us I
know next to nothing about Hexagon but I'm hoping that it has more
extensive spline operations than Silo. At this point I suspect the
degree of Carrara integration and its price will be the main
determinants as to whether I buy it or not.
