Re: Hexagons secrets... 2005-05-04 - By Bob Dawson
Back Hi, Patrick.
I like the wire of your lion. Nice construction. Out of curiosity, about how long did it take to model?
I also like what you have to say about Hexagon, especially the parts about "fast" and "easy." "Built for maximum speed" is just what I wanted to hear. Like most illustrators, I really need the speed, since clients always seem to want the job finished two days before they give it to you.
I've been doing almost all my modeling in Cinema 4D (and Amapi), but from what I'm seeing and hearing about Hexagon, I think I could cheerfully adopt it as my primary modeler.
One question I have about Hexagon is how does it handle vector file imports from FreeHand or Illustrator for extruded logos, etc.? While more sophisticated modeling techniques are cool (and necessary, of course), simple 3D logos and headlines from Illustrator files are bread and butter stuff.
Thanks for posting all this info, Patrick.
Best,
Bob Dawson
