RE: multiple exposures for HDR; the only technique that I have found to be successful using 3D rendered images to create an HDR map has been through Terragen (<http://www.planetside.co.uk/terragen/>), where the program actually has controls to change camera f-stops. The only thing I noticed that was a challenge was that the program doesn't compensate for the color of the sky (blue), so when I took the images and put them together to create an HDR map, I always got a blue cast on my images. So I worked around this temporarily by creating skies with a full grey cloud cover, and was able to get a decent HDR image that I could then use in Carrara.
