Re: Think I may have made a mistake purchasing Carrara...(Zbrush u 2005-05-01 - By Steve
Back Rigging for simple movements is not a problem, I.E an eyebrow arching upward or something.. setting up more complicated cycles of movements like jumping or climbing, singing or playing the electric guitar and so forth can be much more difficult. Complex movement is an entirely different beast. I don't expect to be able to make Shrek or whatever any time soon so I'll work on what I can do.
I believe Eovia is working to improve animating for the next release. I don't know what can be done which will enable anyone to go out and animate star wars 3 for instance, but they've pulled some pretty slick surprises over the last couple of years so I would expect to see at least one or two major improvements and a bunch of smaller ones, which is consistent with their upgrade history.

Hey thanks to all who came to my rescue :-)
So I managed to get my model to flip correctly with Zbrush's export controls, and thank you also for showing me how to adjust the vertices colors, I still find working with them awkward (I guess I got spoiled to my learning edition of Maya).
I don't know why the app is so frigging slow...250,000 polys is not large for a model. I'm not sure if it's the limitations of the app or my machine...just know it's painful and frustrating :-(
Who mentioned Silo? I wanted to get it, but alas to bones!
Can someone point me to a book which could explain rigging in this app? Again I say, the manual is very poor, cursory and vague. I did a search here
for rigging related subjects and didn't find much. Can I assume that that means most of you get along fine with rigging in Carrara?
Thanks once again.
