Let's say the variable isn't synchronized and two people go for it at about the same time... One guy looks at the var to get the start location. Another guy looks at the var to get the start location. First guy tells the server to add 900 to the var. Second guy tells the server to add 900 to the var.
Now, both will download the same posts, and the var will be incremented by 900 twice...
