Importing from Illustrator?

Importing from Illustrator?

I have a vector shape from Adobe Illustrator that will become a tribal blade in
Carrara. I
imported it in the spline and the shape seems a bit jaggier. Each bezier curve
is now a
series of straight lines. Even playing with the beziers in the Spline Modeller
it still seems
very low-poly....

Although I am probably better off with a low-facet object while I'm building
the scene, is
there a way to step-up the quality or fidelity (or something) so the beziers
are closer to
curves, or at least have a lot more polys so they look more like curves? Would
I need to do
this on import? Would the VM be a better place to import Illustrator?

Thanks for advice
holly
