Wow, Hollywood budget, here we come! ;)

Personally, I think the "large production" feel was accomplished well
with John's choice of shots, music selection, effects, etc.  Whatever
resources he had at his disposal, he used, and I think he did a nice
job overall putting them together.  The production may not be a
Speilberg or a Lucas fabrication, but I can just imagine that if he
had their same resources, background, time, etc., from what I am
seeing so far from his work, he may not be too far behind. ;)
