It won't happen, Andrew. Adobe is purchasing
Macromedia to get rid of the competition. They
will ditch some of their products (GoLive, probably)
for the industry standards in Macromedia's line
and ditch many of Macromedia's competitive
products.

They aren't chopping off a large portion of their
user base. They are going to be controlling their
user base and will offer them less products at
(probably) steeper prices so they will please
their shareholders. Developing software is an
expensive process and they won't be developing
competitive products that serve the same market.

Maybe. It depends what Macromedia has been
quietly developing.
