Using Carrara as just a renderer and animation program is fine, but there are many folks including myself how use Carrara as the modeler as well. I would not at all be happy if Carrara went the super-renderer-only route. Luckily it does not seem to be moving that direction, but instead is building on the multiple foundations that makes it great: Rednering, modeling, and animation is improving. I would welcome having an even better vertex modeler in the suite.
