1. make a copy of the object (always experiment on a copy)
2. go into the modeling room (and do not work on the master, take the
new master option)
3. convert to vertex object
4. remove the axis offset in the vertex editor
5. in the assembly room undo the effects of the change
6. apply the effect.

I hope this helps  (and I am assuming you are not using transporter)

The other approach would be to to adjust the difference in Poser and
reimport
