I couldn't agree with Doug more with what he is saying. Deliver
papers, mow lawns, babysit...do whatever you can to get your hands on
either Carrara 3 or Carrara 4. Those versions are *worlds* away from
Carrara 1.1 and they are more stable and *lightning fast* re:
rendering in comparison. And there are more plugins to select from,
some either free or very reasonably priced. The best favor you could
probably do for yourself this year would be to upgrade. :) [ You
could also see if you can ask some relatives or friends for a
combination birthday present this year. ;) ]
BTW, Mike is selling his Carrara Studio 4 Pro version (includes AMAPI
Design 7) at a very good price, too ($300 or best offer). You might
want to check his offer out:
