Hexagon information from Eovias website

Hi Bob,

If you don't mind, what are the main differences between Amapi D7 and
Hexagon?  Personally, I have no need to go to A7Pro; if it's being
discontinued I'd be interested in giving Hexagon a spin when it comes
out.  I'd like to know what kind of stuff in A7D isn't supported by
Hexagon (if any).

I've been using Amapi since version 5 as a polygon modeller - I'm not
into NURBS at this point.  I'm used to using the symmetry/clone tool to
model half the object as a low-poly version while having the smoothed
clone update in real-time.

Any word on file types supported? (ie. Anything new?)

I wanted to be at the chat event to ask these questions, but my schedule
conspired against me! :)

Thanks,

Glen

Correction.  Hexagon is not replacing Amapi Designer.  Amapi Designer is
being discontinued with the expectation that those who need that thype
of modeling capabilities are able to purchase Amapi Pro.

Hexagon is a new modeler that does incorporate capabilities that were
found in Designer, plus others.  The goal of Hexagon is to provide a
more approachable, yet equally powerful, modeling tool.

Regards -
Bob

Yes,  Hexagon is replacing Amapi Designer.

This product looks allot like Amapi Design.  Is this a replacement for
Amapi D?
